The first sketches working out the main ideas
This design for a wedding invitation for some friends was requested to include
two cats and a Chinese character shaped like a heart.
I adapted the provided Chinese script into a heart like shape and decided to
have the two cat’s tails intertwine to form a heart frame around the characters.
In order to have the two cats identify as a male and female cat, I added a bow
to one and a bow tie to the other.
Finally I made the layout for the information text and put corner border designs.
All the design work was made in Illustrator as a vector to be laser printed on
wood with certain elements cutout and others etched.
