I was tasked with creating a Calendar for the photography studio I worked for. It

was the year of the Dragon in the Chinese zodiac, so I planned to make the

background have a large dragon climbing up the calendar tiles.

Sketching out the dragon in pencil gave me the background center piece and I

made it into a vector asset in Illustrator.

I organized and sized the calendar tiles and put in the numbered dates and

month titles, then repositioned the dragon’s legs and claws to show it grasping

certain frames.

Including a simple Space Needle design and year from the flames of the

dragon filled out the rest of the border.

I used the photos of the photographers from the studio that they submitted

and tried to match each image to a month that seemed best represented.
